We are thrilled to announce that, on 6 July, Art & Care Studio will begin its first international residency in Hamburg, Germany.

The residency is supported by Culture Moves Europe through the Individual Mobility Call and will bring us to @caringculturelab, a collective dedicated to supporting artists whose creative practices are deeply intertwined with care.

Over the coming weeks, we will develop Caring Cities: Exploring Parent-Artist Networks from Rome to Hamburg, an artistic research project investigating how care, parenting and artistic practice intersect, reshape one another, and redefine our ways of inhabiting the city.

Working through writing, photography and visual art, we will share time and space with our children while engaging with artists, curators and local initiatives that are reimagining the relationship between care and cultural production.

We will meet inspiring practitioners, including @marcia.breuer, founder of Mehr Mütter für die Kunst, and visit projects such as the Parents in Arts Residency at @m.1arthurboskampstiftung, exploring places shaped by relationships of care, belonging and transformation.

This is more than a residency. It is the continuation of a dialogue that has been growing within our collective for over a year: a shared inquiry into maternal identity, artistic collaboration and the possibility of building practices grounded in solidarity rather than competition.

We look forward to bringing this experience back to Rome, where it will continue to evolve through new collaborations, conversations and public encounters.
